Indications
Everolimus 10 mg is intended for the treatment of different kinds of cancer (for example, renal, breast, stomach, pancreas and pulmonary cancers). Moreover, this drug can be used by patients with tuberous sclerosis for the treatment of certain kinds of non-malignant tumors in kidneys or brain. It acts by impeding the replication of cancer cells.

How to use this medication?
Everolimus 10 mg comes in the form of pills for oral intake and as a pill. When this drug is used for the treatment of subependymal giant cell astrocytoma (SEGA) or renal cancer in patients with TSC (tuberous sclerosis complex), RCC (renal cell carcinoma), breast, pancreatic, intestinal, or pulmonary cancer, it should be taken once a day. When the drug is used to avert transplant rejection, it is generally used twice a day in combination with cyclosporine. Everolimus must be always taken with or without meal. Take the drug at the same time of the day. Consult your physician if you have any questions. Take the drug strictly according to the doctor’s prescriptions.
Adverse effects
Loose bowels, sickness and vomiting, lack of appetite, weight loss, taste disorder, nasal bleeding, skin dryness, vertigo and head pain may occur. If any of these adverse effects last or get worse, inform your physician at once.
Pain or ulceration in the mouth may happen as well. Be careful while brushing your teeth and don’t use alcohol-containing mouthwash. Rinse your mouth often with cool water mixed with salt or baking soda. Try to eat only soft meals.
The treatment may cause temporary alopecia. However, your hair growth will normalize after the end of therapy.
Patients using this medication may experience severe adverse effects.
Warnings
Before starting the treatment with Everolimus 10 mg, inform your physician if you have allergy to Everolimus or its components (or to any other drugs). This medication may contain inactive components, able to cause allergy or other complications. Ask your doctor for additional information.
Inform your physician if you suffer (-ed) from liver dysfunction, bacterial infections, increased level of cholesterol or diabetes.
Everolimus 10 mg may cause dizziness. Therefore, you should avoid driving a car, operating any machinery, or engaging in any activity that requires high focus. Try to refuse from alcoholic drinks.
