The mechanism of action of Dasatinib 100mg

The activity of Dasatinib manifests itself on cell models of leukemia. This happens both in respect of sensitive and resistant to imatinib cells. Dasatinib helps to overcome resistance of the cells to imatinib, associated with overexpression of BCR-ABL, mutations of domain of BCR-ABL kinase, activation of alternative mechanisms inducing kinase of the SRC family (LYN, NSC) and overexpression of the gene multi-drug resistance.

Protocol of reception of Dasatinib 100mg

Dasatinib 100mg is taken orally, regardless of meal
It is recommended to take Dasatinib 100 mg once a day at the initial stage of treatment of chronic myeloid leukemia. In all other cases – 140 mg 1 time per day.
In consequence, the dose can be increased to 140 mg 1 time a day in case of chronic myeloid leukemia and 180 mg 1 time a day in all other cases. Dose increase is justified in the absence of hematological and cytogenetic reactions due to the adoption of initial doses.

The efficiency of use of Dasatinib 100mg.

Dasatinib 100mg is successfully used in the treatment of chronic myeloid leukemia in the chronic phase or if it is detected for the first time.
Also, the drug is successfully used in the treatment of chronic myeloid leukemia in chronic phase, acceleration phase or in the phase of myeloid or lymphoid blast crisis, in case of resistance or intolerance to previous therapy, including imatinib.
Treatment with Dasatinib 100mg is also justified in the case of acute lymphoblastic leukemia with positive Philadelphia chromosome, in case of resistance or intolerance to previous therapy.

Contraindications to Dasatinib 100mg

Hypersensitivity to Dasatinib or other components of the drug; Also, do not take the drug during pregnancy and breastfeeding. The reception of the drug is prohibited to children under the age of 18.

Side effects

Most of the side effects of Dasatinib 100mg have a temporary nature and disappear with prolonged treatment.
The most common side effects are: infections (including upper respiratory tract infections and herpes infections), pneumonia, enterocolitis, headache, bleeding, pleural effusion, shortness of breath, diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, skin rash, musculoskeletal pain, fluid retention, hypodermic edema, tongue swelling, lips, conjunctivitis, fatigue, and fever.
