The Best Pod Coffee Machines
With pod coffee makers, you just insert a sealed capsule filled with roasted or ground beans into the machine. The coffee is then poured into the machine for a predetermined amount of time.
Some pod coffee machines have multiple cup sizes and frothing milk capabilities. Choosing the best pod coffee maker depends on your personal preferences and your lifestyle.
1. Keurig K-Select
This machine is an excellent choice if you are looking for an Keurig coffeemaker that doesn't have all the bells and whistles and features of higher-end models. It's easy to use, has a beautiful design and is able to be tucked into the corner of your kitchen when it's not in use.
One disadvantage of this machine is that it could be noisy, but it isn't a big deal. It's small enough to fit on a counter that is small. If you'd prefer a Keurig with a larger range of sizes or a carafe that can drip-brew your coffee, you might think about other alternatives.
The Keurig K-Select single serve coffee maker combines elegant design and intuitive features to help you make the perfect cup every time. Select from a wide selection of K-Cups or brew coffee using the universal filter for coffee machine and pods My-K-Cup (sold separate). Strong Brew increases the intensity and the strength of your coffee, making it a perfect option for coffee lovers who enjoy strong coffee.
The brewer comes with simple controls using buttons. Just insert the K-Cup pod, select the size of brew you want, and then press brew. In less than a minute, you'll have a freshly-brewed cup of coffee waiting for you to enjoy. The large 52-ounce water reservoir allows you to brew up to five cups in between refills, simplifying your morning routine.
The Keurig is simple to clean, and comes with a removable water reservoir and lid that can be easily washed. To ensure that your Keurig is operating at its best it is essential to remove the scale prior to cleaning. Follow the guidelines in the user guide. This warranty covers all accessories and the brewer, excluding for normal wear misuse, abuse and other external causes such as power outages.
2. Tassimo My Way
If you're a lover of coffee and are in search of an espresso machine that can produce more than just your regular cup of coffee it's the ideal option. It's designed to make wide range of drinks like hot chocolate and tea, and has a large 1.3 millilitre water tank that can make multiple cups at once. The machine can be heated up in just three seconds, and also comes with a built-in milk container that allows you to make latte or a cappuccino. It also has a touch-sensitive display that lets you set the intensity, temperature and quantity of your desired drink.
The Tassimo My Way uses the brand's T Discs which include everything you need to make your favorite drink. There are more than 70 flavors to choose from, including brands such as Kenco and Costa to Costa, Milka and Cadbury's. The machine also has the option of T Discs for hot chocolate and tea as well.
The coffee made by this machine was of excellent quality, though it was a bit lower than the other machines we have reviewed. It also steamed the milk for an espresso fairly quickly and produced a creamy mouthfeel without being overly thick. It is important to remember that the frothy T Disc milk has sugar in it, which, while not a major problem it might not be a favorite for everyone.
Tassimo Myway's removable parts, the drip tray and the water tank are all dishwasher-safe. A Brita filter is included, as well as cleaning disk. A handy indicator light will tell you when it's time to descale, and water tanks will help keep the limescale to the minimum. The machine is Energy Star rated, which reduces the power consumption of up to 15%..
3. Lavazza Lungo Pod Machine
This Nespresso-compatible pod coffee maker from Lavazza which was developed in collaboration with sage nespresso vertuo creatista pod coffee machine stainless (coffeee.uk), is one of the best-looking machines available. It's built with durable and attractive materials, it comes with an elegantly adjustable steam wand for making lattes and cappuccinos as well as a stainless milk jug in steel. The machine will brew espresso lungos, double espressos, mugs, gran lungos and altos using an incredibly thick layer of frosting.
As with most pod machines you load the pod via an opening on top and drop it in the right spot. The machine punctures the capsule and then closes it. When you lift the lever, the used pod will fall into a designated spent pod tray beneath the drip tray.
It's not the fastest way to make espresso. It takes 30 seconds for one shot and 90 seconds for the lungo. However, the results are always amazing with a rich, smooth flavor and great crema. The machine will also alert you when it is time to refill the tank of water or the pod bin.
A big selling point for this machine is that you can use it with any Lavazza brand pod There are seven in total including ground roasted espresso (Qualita Rossa, Intenso, Passionale and Delizioso), two decaffeinated (Dek Cremoso) and two organic coffees (!Tierra! Bio). It's not cheap, but if you get the subscription deal that bundles this pod coffee maker with pod delivery it could come for a comparable price to a regular bean-to-cup machine. The compact design of this machine makes it possible to fit in even the tiniest kitchens. The pods are also recyclable, so you can put them in your local food bins or garden compost.
4. Nespresso Vertuo Pod Machine
Nespresso machines are among the best pod coffee makers for those who want a fast reliable, consistent, and reliable coffee. They heat quickly and are incredibly simple to use. Just put a capsule in, push the button, and you're done. They produce a rich, creamy crema that can be added to drinks for more flavor and thickness. They're not cheap, however, and you have to buy their official pods.
The Vertuo line uses an entirely different method of technology from OriginalLine machines that use espresso capsules (and still exist). They scan each capsule's barcode, automatically adapting the brewing parameters to make a perfect cup. They also have a centrifusion device that spins the capsules to extract the most flavor and the most thick crema.
That said that, the machines aren't as intuitive as some of our other picks. The lid is only opened when the machine is ready and it takes around 30 seconds for the capsule to get hot. The machine doesn't come with the milk frother like some of the other pod machines listed on this list. So you'll have spend an extra PS90 to purchase a separate Aeroccino to make cappuccinos and lattes.
They also require more maintenance than other models - filling the water tank and emptying pod containers that are used and descaling - but they have an app that reminds you to perform these tasks, and provides tools like store locators and capsule recyclers. If you connect your device to an IntelliPort you can control it using voice commands. This is great for those who make coffee at 4am in the dark or have a limited power.
5. SMEG Barista Pod Machine
This sleek pod coffee maker is the lovechild of a beloved Italian brand and a renowned kitchen appliance company. It features all the retro, sleek curves that SMEG is known for, and the ability to brew coffee and lungo drinks with ease. It also has an adjustable shot setting that can be programmed and dual-height drip tray, and a removable pod bin.
This coffee maker makes it easy to make a quick cup of single-shot or double-shot espresso in the morning, or to make a lungo in the break at work. The simple control panel looks elegant and doesn't hinder its functionality. If you're looking to spice up your daily joe even more, it has three filter baskets that can accommodate different types of capsules. You can even use ground beans that are loose (although you'll need an additional grinder).
The SMEG Barista Pod Machine does not come with a milk pitcher. It does however have a Pannarello built-in milk frother that froths cow and soymilk very efficiently. It also comes with the portafilter 51mm that is smaller than a conventional commercial-style filter. It's also pressurized, which is nice because it eliminates the old, unfinished grind taste. It comes with a plastic tamper that also doubles as a spoon.
The SMEG is the most expensive machine we've reviewed. However, it's worth it if you're looking for something retro or you like making espresso drinks quickly. It's also a great choice for those who are new to the world of coffee making and don't want to deal with the hassles of grinding, measuring, and tamping your own beans.
