The rematch with Spence never happened. Bud then chased a fight with Canelo Alvarez at 168 pounds to try and become undisputed in a third weight class. Canelo ruled that out, stating a win over Crawford did nothing for his legacy since Bud was the smaller man.

Terence Crawford (40-0) is arguably boxing’s top pound-for-pound fighter on the planet. Crawford is jumping up in weight to try to win the fourth divisional title of his career. A rumored showdown with Canelo Alvarez is also possibly on the line in the contest.

The 28-year-old Australian is an unbeaten 154-pounder who's won 23 fights, stopped 17 opponents, holds the WBO's admittedly dubious interim championship in the weight class and is the son of Hall of Famer and ex-pound-for-pound king Kostya Tszyu.
