Drug action

The main active ingredient of Lynparza 50mg is Olaparib which takes an active part in DNA repair. Thus, the main task of Olaparib is inhibitory effect on the reproduction of tumor cells.

Indications for use

Lynparza 50mg is prescribed as a monotherapy for patients with recurrent serous ovarian cancer or uterine tubes cancer, as well as for primary peritoneal cancer in patients with a complete response to platinum-containing chemotherapy.

Drug reception

The drug is intended for internal oral use. The daily dose is 800 mg of olaparib, which corresponds to two receptions of 8 capsules (400 mg) per day. You should take the drug no later than within 2 hours before a meal. When missing a dose, the following dose should be taken according to the schedule of reception. The course of treatment should be started no later than in 2 months after the end of platinum-containing chemotherapy. Continue taking the drug until the relapse.

Drug contraindications

Lynparza 50mg is not recommended for patients with impaired renal and liver function, in case of hypersensitivity to the drug components of Lynparza, as well as for persons under 18 years of age.

Pregnancy and breast-feeding

Women of reproductive age should completely exclude pregnancy before the start of therapy, during it and within a month after the completion of the reception. A pregnancy test is mandatory before the start of treatment. During the treatment women of reproductive age should be carefully protected by non-hormonal means, as well as regular pregnancy tests.
The drug is not prescribed to pregnant women, since the clinical tests have showed that the drug has a serious negative impact on embryofetal survival. Nursing mothers should switch to artificial feeding for the period of treatment and for a period of 1 month after the last dose of Lynparza 50mg.

Possible side effects

There is a 20% possibility that you will have the following side effects during the reception of Lynparza 50mg: rapid fatigue and decreased appetite, abdominal pain, nausea, diarrhea and vomiting, as well as anemia, nasopharyngitis and joint pain. The development of myelodysplastic syndrome or pneumonitis was rarely noted.
