Retin-A 0,05: Application

Internal application of Retin- A 0,05 is carried out only by appointment of an oncologist or gemologist (specialist in blood diseases). The dose is calculated in milligrams per unit area of the patient’s body. At oral reception the preparation can give complications in the form of a so-called retinoic acid syndrome – the patient begins dyspnea, fever, respiratory rate disorder, the appearance of an infiltrate in the lungs, liver and kidney failure and acute leukocytosis. When the first symptoms of retinoic acid are used, dexamethasone remedies and other desensitizing remedies are used.
External application of the remedy is possible without a doctor’s prescription, however, it is advisable to pre-talk with a specialist and observe the reaction of the body for the first time after starting the remedy application. All products of Retin-A 0,05 are contraindicated in pregnancy, pregnancy testing is mandatory before taking pills, and women are shown to use contraceptives during treatment with Retin-A 0,05. For the duration of treatment with lactation, breast-feeding should be stopped.

Do not apply Retin-A 0,05 in the presence of skin diseases, as well as if he has a family predisposition to such diseases. The remedy is contraindicated in skin eczema, acute skin inflammation, wounds, burns, for children under 12 years of age and with individual intolerance. Before the beginning of the taking of the remedy, an allergic test must be carried out – it is applied to the inner side of the elbow with a thin layer and if the allergic reaction to local application does not develop within 15 minutes, the remedy can be used for this patient.

There are also genetic contraindications. For example, most researchers insist that, before using it, a cytological examination of the body should be done to find out whether the patient is the carrier of the translocation t (15; 17) and / or the PML / RAR-alpha gene. With positive results of cytology, Retin A 0,05 for the treatment of this patient cannot be used.

During taking the medicine, you cannot stay in the sun for a long time, as the remedy intensifies photosensitization. If you have a tanned skin you should take the remedy for one or two weeks before the time when a fresh tan will come down. It is optimal to be treated with Retin-A 0,05 in autumn and winter – at this time there is less possibility of encountering factors that cause complications. It is impossible to use vitamin A preparations in conjunction with taking Retin A 0,05 – this can cause hypervitaminosis. When the remedy combined with antibiotics of the tetracycline series, a sharp increase in intracranial pressure can be observed. It is not recommended to combine Retin – A 0,05 with cosmetics that dry or irritate the skin, and also contain alcohol.

The optimal duration of treatment with Retin-A 0,05 is 8-12 weeks, but the course can last up to three months. After the completion of the course, the skin should be allowed to rest for six months.
